That said, I advocate that a combination of both is a good idea. For example (and please bear in mind I am no PPC expert)… A friend of mine has a small website that dominates natural listings for his search terms for a niche localised market. Despite this, he didn’t get too much traffic. So, we decided to run a PPC campaign simply to ascertain search phrases being used. The campaigns actually resulted in more traffic for the same phrases he ranked highly for naturally and, more importantly, it converts into enquiries.
